The Neighborhood Without Borders

Surrounding the Circle: Exploring University Circle's Next Door Neighborhoods

April 11 - 6:00pm to 7:30pm

A panel of local experts and community leaders will investigate the history and challenges of neighborhoods immediately surrounding University Circle, their prospects for future growth and development, and their current relationships to Circle institutions. What are the concerns and aspirations of the Circle’s neighbors? How do they perceive Circle institutions and the opportunities they provide? How can relations between the Circle and surrounding neighborhoods be strengthened? Steven Litt, Art and Architecture Critic of The Plain Dealer, will moderate a discussion among Gary Norton, Mayor of East Cleveland; Vickie Johnson, Executive Director of the Fairfax Renaissance Development Corporation; and Mark Chupp, Director East Cleveland Partnership and Assistant Professor, Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, Case Western Reserve University.
